Four Internship positions available for The 2015 Summer Season-

A small theatre company in upstate New York is offering four internships for a Youth Theater Program:

1) Stage management

2) Theatre technology

3) Director for dramatic production

4) Administrative/public relations

Valatie Community Theatre is a small nonprofit theatre in the village of Valatie, New York.  Part of our programming is an annual summer children’s program consisting of a musical for children in grades 3 to 8, and a dramatic production for students in grade 9 to 12.

We are looking for persons interested in internships:

1) Stage Manager to work on both productions – Intern will stage manage/ coordinate two productions and organize parents’ participation as necessary

2) Theatre Technician – Intern could offer a variety of theatre skills. We will consider a lighting, sound, set builder, or costume tech.

3) Director for dramatic production for high school students.

Intern will work with a mentor.

4) Administrative/ public relations – Intern will need to be able to compose a newsletter and work on publicity for both productions (possibility for credit if through SUNYA)

The exact parameters of the positions will depend upon the candidate’s experience and references. There is a stipend for each position.

Scholarship available for Female Pre-Health Students

In memory of Katherine Vario, a UAlbany biology major and premedical student
For undergraduate women who are interested in dentistry, medicine, or
medical sciences and have one or more years of studies remaining
Scholarship Qualifications:
 Evidence of intent to pursue a career in dentistry, medicine, or medical sciences
 Employment or volunteer experience in a medically oriented field
 Students should be rising seniors and have completed at least 3 semesters of studies at the University at Albany
 Minimum overall and major GPAs of 3.2
 Involvement in school activities
 Demonstrated commitment to community service
 Demonstrated financial need*

Museum of Moving Image- Paid Internships!

June 8 – August 14

The Museum offers full-time, paid summer internships. Under the supervision of department heads, interns have the opportunity to learn about the full range of Museum operations. Undergraduates entering their senior year in fall 2015, college graduates, and graduate students are eligible to apply.

The Museum’s offices are open Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Collection Curatorial: Intern will assist with researching a new, major acquisition in the Museum’s collection, and with general research support for recent and pending acquisitions.

Development: Intern will assist with the administrative needs of the development and membership department, including but not limited to research, data entry, and mailings, as well as event planning.

Film: Intern will assist in research, preparation, and implementation of film screenings and discussion programs, and with various web projects and publications. Intern will also assist with research for installations and exhibitions.

Institutional Archive: Intern will assist with a comprehensive inventory of the Institutional Archive, which contains documents, photographs, brochures, and products created by the Museum throughout its 30 year history.

GoDental Workshop and Recruitment Fair

The 2015 ADEA GoDental Workshop and Recruitment Fair for Predental Students and Advisors offers students interested in dentistry the chance to meet dental school admissions officers from over 40 U.S. dental schools and attend interactive presentations that will help them be successful applicants. This dynamic, interactive event is geared toward high school, community college and four-year college students, as well as prehealth advisors and parents. While every student interested in pursuing dentistry can benefit from this event, nontraditional students and students from diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to attend.

Priority Deadline for Summer Internship Approaching!

The priority deadline for the Summer 2015 LIVE. LEARN. INTERN. programs in Washington, DC is coming up on February 10. The final application deadline is March 17.

Students can earn between 3 and 9 credits and are guaranteed an internship in the fields of public policy, international affairs, journalism, communication, business, or the nonprofit sector.
