Job Description:

The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Director in the implementation and oversight ofproject services for a $3.0 million grant between the Independent Sector of higher education in New York State represented by the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities
(cIcu) and the NYS Education Department’s RTTT program. The goal of the grant is to support and enhance professional development and related activities for teacher and school building leader university faculty in relation to the New York State Regents Reform agenda for teacher
and school building leader preparation, enhanced clinical skills, data-driven differentiated instruction, and Common Core state standards. The Coordinator will maintain databases to enable immediate and ongoing communications with the project’s campus coordinators and
regional leadership staff. Also expected is careful tracking and recording of progress on project implementation, keeping complete, comprehensive, up-to-date records. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Project Director and cIcu staff to coordinate statewide meetings,webinars, and conferences and facilitate travel arrangements for guest speakers as needed. The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Director in the compilation of the mandated reports tothe NYS Education Department. This position is entirely grant-funded, beginning immediately and lasting through June 2014, the period funded through the grant. The position is not eligible
for regular cIcu benefits. Travel necessary.

$35,000-38,000 commensurate with experience; no fringe benefits


Directly to the grant’s Project Director; will also interact with the project’s assistant director for grant financial management and with the project’s regional leaders and campus coordinators, as well as with cIcu Vice President, Outreach and Financial Aid.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Set up and maintain comprehensive record keeping and grant program implementation tracking, including work plans, communication plans and progress reports; maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems
• Research and prepare written materials and reports as requested by the project staff
• Develop and maintain up-to-date contact lists and for significant correspondence and telephone/email
• Maintain project’s website and discussion forum
• Set up and coordinate webinars, meetings, conferences and related travel arrangements for staff, expert speakers, project affiliates
• Assist the Project Director in the review of data for program management and evaluation
• Support the Project Director in the review of progress reports from college and university leadership
• Research and obtain quotes as needed for purchases
• Support staff to meet project deadlines
• Travel required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifying Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience in project administration, event planning or relevant experience preferred
• Exhibits initiative; works well independently and collaboratively on multiple related projects
• Understanding of fiscal, reporting, evaluation and data needs of grant-funded programs
• Excellent organizational and strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, database programs required; familiarity with desktop publishing helpful)
• Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and deadlines
• Flexibility, willingness to contribute and ability to learn fast, prioritize and pitch in in an often changing environment
