Summer Quest Educators at the New York State Museum
Educators will be responsible for leading hands-on programs for 20 – 30 registered visitors per session. Programs are designed to engage participants in an interactive dialog with Museum exhibits and collections. Candidates must be energetic and confident in their ability to encourage inquiry and discovery among diverse audiences, ages 7 and up.
Once hired, educators are called in on an as-needed basis (dependent on group registration). Programs will be operating Tuesday – Friday, between 9:30 a.m. – 3:30p.m. Educators will receive $75/day for a full day and $37.50 for a half-day (or $15/hour). Summer Quest Program dates are June 25th – August 9th.
These positions are perfect for college students/graduate looking for experience in the fields of education, natural science, history, museum education, anthropology, etc. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and proficiency at working with diverse groups and have the flexibility to manage ever-changing group dynamics in the Museum’s interactive educational environment.
