Intern Position: Customer Service Rep
Location: Progressive Insurance Service Center – 1586 Central Ave., Colonie, NY 12205
Schedule: Intern Hours would be 9 to 6 Mon thru Fri

The Claims Service Representative Intern plays a critical role in the Progressive Service Center where customers’ benefit from one-stop claims service. In this role, you will provide accurate, efficient, personalized and proactive customer interaction throughout the repair process. You will set accurate and clear expectations with the customer regarding repair duration, repair outcomes, and deductible or other out of pocket cost estimating. As the liaison with repair shops, you will obtain shop updates and re-establish appropriate expectations for shop duration.
– High School Diploma or GED preferred (College students at Junior level most desired)
– Minimum one year prior customer service experience.
– Genuine desire to interact with people and feels invested in the outcome of the customer interaction.
– History of successful conflict-resolution in a face-to-face environment.
– Excellent communication and organizational skills.
– High-energy, customer-oriented individual with ability to proficiently multitask and prioritize.
– Effective team member modeling behaviors fostering a positive team environment.
– Keyboard and PC knowledge and proficiency.
