POSITION: Full-time, tenure track position for graduate and undergraduate teaching in the area of Curriculum and Instruction available September 1, 2013.
TITLE: Rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advisement, participation in the affairs of the department, the School of Education and College, including but not limited to committee work and curriculum development.
QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: An earned doctorate in education or related field, or ABD with designated completion date; knowledge of early childhood and/or elementary school curriculum. PREFERRED: Mathematics and/or early childhood education expertise; strong educational technology expertise; experience in early childhood and/or elementary school settings; college teaching experience; experience supervising field experiences; experience in curriculum integration and collaborative teaching.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

THE COLLEGE: The College traces its beginnings to 1868 and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in the School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Professional Studies. THE DEPARTMENT: The degrees offered include: B.S. in childhood education and early childhood education; M.S.Ed. in childhood education; Masters of Science in Teaching (MST) in childhood education. The current enrollment is 900 undergraduates and 50 in the graduate programs. The department has five certification programs registered by the State of New York and has received NCATE accreditation. The College has recently been listed by U.S. News and World Report as a national leader in producing teacher education graduates and by Consumer’s Digest as a “best buy.” The department is characterized by a creative, pioneering faculty and is seeking candidates who can contribute to innovative approaches to teacher education.
